Gifts

Hi Everyone!

As we are getting closer and closer to the big day we wanted to make a request with respects to gifts.

Although gifts are NOT necessary (your presence is gift enough), we understand that people will want to give.

For those who are coming to the Island, we respectfully ask that if you are planning on giving us a gift to not bring it with you on the Island. Our address is below and gifts can either be mailed/shipped to us, or we will gladly make arrangements to meet people before or after the the big day!

We will have something available at the event for those who wish to bring cards, but again feel free to mail these as well.

Where and When is the Wedding?

Madeline Island is about 4 hours from Minneapolis on the shore of Lake Superior. The Island is just a 20 minute ferry ride from Bayfield, WI. Ferry Schedule can be found here.

The wedding itself will be held Saturday July 28, 2012; 2:00 PM at Barrier Beach within Big Bay State Park (see updated map below). The entrance to the park is at the end of Hagen Road and once you have arrived to the park, you will see signs pointing you in the direction of beach/camping.
There are stairs leading down to the beach, where the ceremony will be held. We will BBQ at the top of the stairs in the picnic area immediately following. 
Note, dogs are NOT allowed on the beach or picnic areas and you might be subject to a fine if you bring your dog(s) with you. This is a huge bummer for us as well as we were hoping to have our dogs in the ceremony.

Again, bring (or wear your swimsuit) and towel as well as a chair(s) as seating is limited. There are toilets and changing areas at the picnic grounds.

Lodging

Madeline Island offers an array of Lodging. The best resource is on Madeline Island's website itself:

Cabins, hotels, and camping are all available on the Island, and there are also a couple of hotels in Bayfield, WI where you catch the ferry as well.

Because this is a very popular vacation spot, it is advised to arrange your lodging as soon as possible.

We welcome all friends and family and their guests. Children are also welcome.

There will be a BBQ at the ceremony location following the event and due to the location, it is advised that you bring your own lawn chair if you wish to sit. We will have limited capacity to bring seating up to the Island.

There ceremony is casual, and it is strongly suggested you bring or wear your swimsuit and towel!

Carrie and Kevin are registered at Target, and always welcome gift cards (especially to Menards). Gifts are not necessary, your presence at the ceremony is gift enough!
